The Pressure of Goals and Deadlines!

10/30/2017

Over this past month, I had many goals and deadlines, some of which were real, and some of which were unrealistically self-imposed.

As I observed myself during the month of multiple moves, and then unpacking at the new place, I saw very clearly that I wound up going in the direction which was most important to me in the moment. I was actually inner-guided for what was truly next, rather than what I might have wanted to be next.
For example, I had a real deadline for packing up all my belongings, getting them out of my apartment, and turning in the key to the leasing office upon leaving. On the flip side, the pressure of business goals during that time took a back seat. There isn't time for everything to occur at the very same time... unless you have a team doing everything for you.

  • Do you know that your goals are just a thought?
  • Are you aware that you impose them on yourself?
  • Do you know that you have the right to change your mind as you travel towards your goal?
  • What if I even told you that a goal is there to help you more deeply enjoy life?

It's an interesting point of view, isn't it?

I put myself under massive pressure for my business goals in September and October. While I never missed an already set up group coaching call or client meeting, it was a challenge to dedicate time to grow during these months. And maybe this wasn't the season for it when I was already full with other activities. As it turns out, it was the perfect time to hold space for them to unfold after I got settled into my new home. My meaningful goals were being nurtured in order to manifest now.

Nonetheless, during the past few weeks, I put myself under great pressure. Now, there is a wide open space for growth, and I'm so looking forward to it. I even saw how much getting back to work on a full time schedule might feel like a vacation after a few weeks of packing, moving, and unpacking.
So, what would be most helpful to you between now and the end of the year?

Is there pressure to perform and pressure to reach your goals before December 31st?

Pay close attention and see if the goals you are holding exist from obligation, or whether they are present to add value and joy to your life.

Commitment to your goals is easy when the process brings you joy and wellbeing, but not so easy when coming from self-imposed (or other-imposed) obligation.

I invite you to check in with yourself and see where you feel the most alignment and joy. There is nothing that says that reaching a huge goal won't bring you tremendous joy, a sense of great accomplishment and well-earned pride. As a matter of fact, sometimes my goals are there simply because I want to experience myself pushing through and reaching a new level of income or business or visibility or growth or all of these elements at once.  Other times, I put myself under pressure to surpass what I accomplished before, and it causes much chaos with very little to no results.

I'm very excited to be offering complimentary strategy sessions to explore this very topic of goals.

  • Do you know your goals?
  • Are they truly yours?
  • Do they bring you joy and elevate you and your business?
  • If these goals are really what you want, do you know how to achieve them without great pressure?

It is when I have let go of all the pressure that I have been able to achieve my greatest accomplishments. There is indeed a way to do this which is much more peaceful... and powerful!

Ready to explore how this can be your way to reach amazing goals going forward? Let's talk!

With love and elegance,

Françoise
