What is elegance, and what does it have to do with business and lifestyle?

In my world, everything!

Wikipedia defines Elegance as a synonym for beauty that has come to acquire the additional connotations of unusual effectiveness and simplicity.

It is frequently used as a standard of tastefulness particularly in the areas of visual design, decoration, the sciences, and the aesthetics of mathematics.

Elegant things exhibit refined grace and dignified propriety.

Elegance allows me to live and work completely on-brand with my desires, core values and pure pleasures in life.

Elegance allows me to be in love with beauty and welcome it into my life unapologetically.

Elegance allows me to seek and implement unusual effectiveness and simplicity in business for myself and for my clients.

Elegance helps me to set the stage, a platform on which to stand, with commitment to both effectiveness and style in life and business coaching.

Elegance is a no-compromise zone. It is love and beauty and self-care and commitment and intention and flexibility and generosity. It is tastefulness and design and aesthetics of mathematics and the sciences.

I was born into elegance, and forgot it for a good many years of my life. I secretly admired it and admired those who had it, only to remember one day that I have it too. I am meant to teach it and share it with other people who desire it too. After all, when you admire a quality in someone, it’s because you have that quality too. Maybe you just need a little help to unveil it.

The story begins here.

I was born in Paris.

My mother is French and I grew up with elegance in every area of my life. Food, table settings, decor, absolutely chic clothing, manners. Multi-lingual with French, Italian, German, and eventually English. International living from Europe to the United States.

My father was German, a man of refinement and great sensitivity. Loving and affectionate. An engineer with an appreciation for the sciences and the aesthetics of mathematics. A lover of nature with great respect for it. A humanitarian with a great vision. A vision he fully implemented before the end of his life. World travel.

Me. Born in Paris. Grew up in the Italian-speaking part of Switzerland, hiking in the Alps. Skiing in Austria. International travel to Africa with my mother and China to adopt my daughter.

Elegance is how I approach life. Elegance is my joy, my laughter, my authenticity. It is pure pleasure in business and in life. Without it I would be lost. I was lost. When I tapped into my own elegance, it was like coming home.

Elegance may not be for everyone, but if you’ve read this far, perhaps you’re being called to have it flow through you again too.

After all, who just has champagne hanging around in the refrigerator for no special occasion, other than to write her first official Elegance blog?
